Dani ponosa i slave

This is the memorial for all the supporters of NK Dinamo Zagreb died during the Croatian War of Independence, photo was taken on 13 May 2010., on 20th anniversary of never played Yugoslav First League 1989/1990 match between NK Dinamo Zagreb and FC Red Star Belgrade when Bad Blue Boys and other NKDZ supporters clashed with Yugoslav militia and burned Yugoslav flag, match remembered as the "festival of police brutality" that even Zvonimir Boban, at that time NKDZ captain, jumped and kicked one of the members of militia. This day is commonly known among Croatian football supporters as the beginning of the Croatian War of Independence, because only a couple of months after serbs among the militia and FCRS supporters attacked Croatia and started a real war which lasted for 4 years and left tens of thousands killed and hundreds of thousands left without their homes. This is for all the brave lads who died during the War and secured what we have now - freedom, democracy and Croatia.

Text on the monument says "Svim navijačima Dinama za koje je rat počeo 13.V.1990. a završio polaganjem svojih života na oltar domovine Hrvatske." (To all the supporters of Dinamo for whom the War started on 13 May 1990 and finished laying down their lives on the altar of homeland Croatia."
Text under the picture is the name of Prljavo kazalište song "Dani ponosa i slave" (Days of pride and glory)
